XIVc. Craftsman Wife - pic1 by anitheya XIVc. Craftsman Wife - pic1 by anitheya
Set of clothing made for Gotland Medieval Week 2011.

The idea was to represent wife of fine city craftsman from XIVc :)

I tried to make proper clothing, but I am aware that there are few mistakes, and perhaps more that I am not aware of.

Clothing contains:

  1. white, fine linen chemise, that you can not see (is under the dress)

  2. white woolen hose with leather garters

  3. shoes - click here to read more about my shoes

  4. deep red cotehardie made of linen and silk mix with tight sleeves closed with tiny buttons

  5. woolen cloak

  6. white linen headkerchief

  7. leather belt

  8. nice red-white purse, however because of using cotton velvet and cotton yarn not historically correct

I was cheating by using sewing machine, but all visible parts are hand sewn. Hose, chemise and kerchief is all hand sewn.
