West Slavic Lady Xc. by anitheya West Slavic Lady Xc. by anitheya
Here is my almost 100% complete attire of West Slavic Lady of Xc.

All sewing, cardweaving, needlework is done by me.

Both desses are made of fabrics dyed in natural way by me: yellow with onion, red with madder.

Please read post on my blog Medieval Witch Project for much more detailed information and more pictures.

You did a wonderful job on this attire! I hope to also one day make an entire set of medieval garb for myself.

Speaking of which, you mention that you use Polish archaeological sources for a lot of your embroidery on the textiles. Do you have some of those sources available? I'm looking for such designs, since I'm making a linen cotte for a 13th-century Polish portrayal.

Hi, thanks.
Embroidery motives I used were inspired by motives found in "Viking and Slavic ornamental design" book - there each motive source is described - from what time and where it was found. You can try to check it out, maybe there is something you could use.
